Why Airbnb is now the largest company in Hawaii?
The ride-hailing company, which was founded in New York City and expanded across the country in 2014, is now one of the largest employers in Hawaii.
But it has a long way to go.
The company says it employs more than 13,000 people in the state, and it has an annual revenue of $7.6 billion.
Here’s how that stacks up against the state’s economy.
Hawaii’s economy: A look at the state and how it compares to the rest of the country.
Source: Bureau of Labor Statistics/US Census BureauHawaii is one of six states that has a net gain in jobs, up 2,100 jobs in the past year.
That includes 2,800 new jobs.
The largest gain in employment came in January, when the state added nearly 2,000 jobs.
In January of this year, the unemployment rate fell to 4.9%, and it remained above 4% for the second consecutive month.
Hawaiians are not leaving the state for greener pastures, and the state is not as dependent on tourism as many would like.
A third of Hawaiians are employed, according to a survey conducted in January by Hawaii Tourism Infrastructure.
The state is home to two of the top three resorts in the world, Disney World and Walt Disney World Resort.
More than 2,200 workers work in those three parks, with an average hourly wage of $29.49.
That’s nearly $30 above the state average of $26.60.
The state also has the fourth-highest unemployment rate in the nation at 6.7%.
