Car rental company to start in Australia by the end of this year
Car rental firm Empire has confirmed it will be entering Australia in 2018, with plans to open two new rental properties in Melbourne and Adelaide.
The company is set to be Australia’s first rental car rental company.
The announcement was made by the company in a press release on Monday, where it said it was in the process of finding a location in Melbourne to open its first Melbourne property.
“Im excited to have the opportunity to offer our loyal customers the same fantastic service we offer in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth,” said Empire CEO Stephen Lai.
“It will be our first car rental service in Australia and we have been building our fleet to the highest standards in order to achieve this objective.”
The company has already started leasing cars for its Australian clients.
The company said its Melbourne and Sydney locations will be available by the second half of 2018, and will open up new locations in Perth and Melbourne in 2019.
The firm said it will expand into the Australian market by the third quarter of 2019, with its first car rentals in Sydney and Perth to be ready by the first quarter of 2020.
It said it is committed to making Melbourne the next home of its luxury car rental fleet.
“We want our Melbourne and Perth locations to be the next destination for our loyal Melbourne and South Melbourne customers,” Mr Lai said.
The Sydney and Melbourne locations will also be available to lease for a maximum of three years, and each rental vehicle will be sold to an individual customer.
The company said it planned to make the move to Melbourne from Sydney as soon as it can, and it has committed to building a fully licensed, licensed fleet of luxury cars in Melbourne by the year 2020.
The move to the new Melbourne and Melbourne properties will mean the company will not be able to lease cars in the Sydney area for up to three years.
